The Lagoons are the musical project of brothers Ryan and Joey Selan. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, the duo first gained recognition for their dreamy, atmospheric sound characterized by smooth vocals, intricate melodies, and lush production after releasing their debut Gems EP in 2016 which helped them establish a growing fanbase. Since then, the duo has expanded their catalog, releasing three albums and three EPs and further solidifying their reputation as one of music’s most promising acts. Their Southern California roots continue to shine through their unique blend of indie pop, surf rock, R&B, jazz, and electronic music creating a unique sonic landscape that draws listeners in with its laid-back vibes and introspective lyrics. Tracks like "California" showcase their knack for crafting catchy hooks and a mood that feels both nostalgic and contemporary. The duo's newest album "Island Hopping" was released on March 29th, 2024. The duo is rapidly becoming known for their vibrant live shows with a “jam band” influence driven by their ability to play multiple instruments on stage and perform a completely fresh and unique set each night making their live show a must-see. They have released two live albums to date - “Live from Malibu” & “Island Hopping: Live from Hermosa Beach” - both of which are performed as an electronic duo and can be viewed on YouTube plus streamed across DSPs. The duo also has taken a 5-piece live band show on the road with critically acclaimed reviews.
